The telegram Wednesday announcing his death contained only the necessary details. Yesterday it was learned that he died from a heat stroke suffered in his home at 7:30 a.m. His mother, Mrs Frances Critser, Evansville, had just arrieved in California for a visit with a daughter, Mrs T M Roland, of Los Angeles, neither of whom could attend the burial. Survivors: widow: Mrs Valeria Critser, St. Louis; sisters: Mrs D R Terry and Miss Ocie Critser and Miss Dcie Critser, Evansville; brother: Berkley Critser, Owensboro. He never lived in Madisonville. Went to St Louis at the time his father, the late J H Critser and family moved here from Sebree about 20 years ago. He was sales manager for the Leaver Electric Company. He was buried on April 12. He was married twice and leaves three children by his first marriage and six by his second. ________ Killed by Fast Flyer Henry Scott, a well known character about town, was killed by Fast Flyer No. 4. Monday night. ....... He was about a mile above town on his way to Garrison when the train overtook him. The train stopped and took the remains to Garrison and they were brought back to this place for burial yesterday. He leaves a wife and six children. ________ Still Increasing Upon inquiry we find that the enrollment of the Public School Normal Class is still increasing. the new arrivals of the last few weeks are Miss Mary Kinney, of Glen Springs; Miss Edith Hilgar, Eby., Ky.; Miss Mary Burchett, Vanceburg; Miss Verna Sexton, Ruggles, Ky; Miss Stella Johnson. Most of these are well know teachers of the county, and all are good strong students that cannot help making a class interesting and enthusiastic. Connard Grimes returned to his home in Manchester, Saturday after having spent the winter with his uncle, Chas. Herbert at this place. Miss Ethel Johnson was the guest of Miss Cora Osborne several days last week. Mrs. Bevis and daughter, Fanny, left Sunday to visit relatives in Cincinnati. -------- Emerson Mrs. Lillie Padgett, of Farmers, is the guest of her father, Rev. H. W. Rayburn. McKinley Davis, of Wesleyville, is the guest of his uncle, Jas. C. Rayburn. -------- Obituary Millard Otis, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Carr, was born in Concord, October 29, 1907 and departed this life November 20, 1909 aged two years and 22 days. For three weeks the little fellow heroically fought the dread destroyer. Medical aid from a distance was called all that loving hands could do was done, but to no avail, and on Sunday at 2:00am the little spirit was released from the prison house of clay. The funeral was held at the home Sunday at 2:00pm. In the absence of the pastor, J. J. Upton, the service was conducted by W. K. Parker, Superintendent of the Sunday School he attended. ---------- Marcus May and family, of Ribolt, were visiting E. W. Marshall Saturday and Sunday. ---------- Trinity Mrs. Susie Lykins, of Camel City, is visiting her brothers, Wm. and Chas. Goodwin. The house of James Prickett was destroyed by fire last Friday. Trinity Council 50, Jr. O.U.A.M., is to give a Thanksgiving Banquet at the residence of R. T. Himes, of this place. We know the Jr. Boys never do things by halves, and we anticipate they will have a grand time. Mr. Wm. Shelton, wife and daughter, Grace as well as Mr. Joseph Williams and family and , mother and Mrs. Lee Young of Hickory Ridge are the guest of Samuel Williams. _________ A number of friends of Will Ruark gathered at his home on Front Street to give him a little surprise on his 57th birthday. It was hard to tell whether he was more surprised than please, but when the guests sat down to the table they knew for a certainty that Mrs. Ruark had not been surprised for no 10 women could have prepared such a feast as she served without several days' notice.
