THE TIMES JOURNAL, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KENTUCKY OCTOBER 27, 1949 Typed as published By Laura Frost Wright Jan 31, 2000 ALLEN FROST, 80, SUCCUMBS TUESDAY (Francis Allen Frost) ALLEN FROST, 80 years old, died at his home in the Beckham Ridge Community, Tuesday night, October 25th. He had been sick for some time and had been in a coma for the last several days. MR. FROST was a farmer, but had worked at the timber business in Tennessee several years ago for a long period of his life. He belonged to no denomination, but had been a devout Christian for many years. He made a profession several years ago. He is survived by his wife SARAH, and 12 children. He had one daughter PEARL who died. The living children are nine girls and three boys as follows: Mrs. WALTER BLACK, Mrs. BUD ANDERSON, Mrs. L.T. REXROAT, Mrs. LUTHER ANDERSON, Mrs. DEWEY ANDERSON, Mrs. GEORGE JASPER, Mrs. TOM HUCKABY, Mrs. BENNY BURTON, Mrs. OLIVER McELROY, MORELAND FROST, JOHN R. and HOBART FROST. He is also survived by over 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also he leaves several great great- grandchildren. His funeral will be conducted at Betheham church today at 1:30 P.M. by Reverend VERNER BLAIR. Internment will follow in Betheham cemetery. Rippetoe Funeral Home have charge of arrangements. Preceded in death by husband Pascal Farthing in 1978. Survived by four sisters, Mary Carrier of Sturgis, Lorene Newcom of Henderson, Dorothy Russelburg of Morganfield and Aminelle Bailey of Kenton, OH; three brothers, Doris Griffin and Bobby Griffin of Henderson, and Illof Griffin of Mayfield. Services were Mon. Dec. 27, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. NACE WALLER MASON - 78, Sturgis, died Sat. Dec. 25, 1999 at Deaconess Hospital of heart failure. He was a retired farmer. Survived by his wife Annelle; one son, Bob Mason of Cabery, IL., one brother, Murray Mason of Sturgis; and three grandchildren. Services were Tues. Dec. 28 at St. Ambrose Church with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown. MARY A. LADD - 69, Sturgis died Sun. Dec. 26, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Welborn Campus from a stroke. She was a member of Sturgis Methodist Church and Ladies Auxillary. Survived by her husbadn, James; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Thurston and Nancy Hunt of Sturgis; one sister, Lou Johnson of Louisvlle; three brothers, Geroge Brown Jr of Clay, Ray of Cincinnati, OH., and James of Swanton, OH; 4 grandchildren. Services were Tues. Whitsell Funeral Home, Sturgis with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. AARON "MOUSIE" LOGAN - 74 of Sturgis died Mon. Dec, 27, at Deaconess Hospital. He was a member of Sturgis First Baptist Church. Born Sept. 15, 1925 in Union County to Thurman Logan and Dora (Jones) Logan. Preceded in death by three brothers, Thurman in 1968, Leon in 1987 and Wesley in 1997. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Sarah; two son, Gary of Sturgis and Bruce of Bowling Green; 4 grandchildren, Ryan , Rachel, Jason and Alex. Services were today at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. WILBUR M. SIMPSON - 77 of Sturgis, died Sun. Dec. 26, 1999 at Union County Methodist Hospital. Survived by his wife Helen; six daughters Yvonne Ward of Paducah, Tami Sanders of Linden, VA., Connie Simpson of Sturgis, Regina Parker and Renee Simpson both of Henderson, and Alicia Maddox of Riverside, CA; three sons, Robert, Wilbur Jr., and Johnny Ray, all of Sturgis; one sister, Verna Shelton of Evansville; two nieces , two nephews, and one cousin, 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Services were Sun. Jan 2, 2000 at Phillips Chapel, C.M.E. Church Sturgis with burial in Presbyterial Cemetery in Sturgis. MARY ELLEN GENTRY - 97 of Morganfield, formerly of Madisonville, died Sun. Dec. 26, 1999 at Methodist Hospital Union County. Born in Hopkins County on Oct. 16, 1902. She was a member of Pride Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Annie Elizabeth Russell Ramsey and Lacy Ramsey, her husband Roy Lee Gentry on Jan. 14, 1975, a grandson, Roy David Robards, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Survived by one daugther, Mrs. David C. (Betty) Robards of Morganfield; two brothers, Maurice Ramsey of Madisonville and Loyd Ramsey of Richland; one granddaughter, Mrs. Tommy (Sandra) Collins of St. John, IN; two great grand son, Wayne Collins of Chandler, AZ and Rob Collins of St. John, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Services were today at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with burrial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Madisonville.
