Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 25, in the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Claude Preston presiding. Burial was held in the Turner Branch Cemetery in Paintsville, under the direction of the Jones-Preston funeral home. Born in Johnson County on November 19, 1894, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jeanette Fitch Dills and had been a lifelong resident of Johnson Co. The daughter of the late Andrew and Cynthia Hitchcock Fairchilds, she was born in Johnson County, Dec. 31, 1880, and had been a lifelong resident of the Oil Springs community. She was a member of he Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Joel H. Baldwin, Sr., preceded her in death. Burial was in Paddy Flats at Fuget. ______________________________X-Message: #5 Date: Tue, 9 May 2000 21:55:21 -0400 (EDT) From: milkman03@webtv.net (Steven Colvin) Subject: OBIT: Trimble, 1943, Johnson Co Information from Paintsvlle Herald, Paintsville, KY GYPSIE STAPLETON TRIMBLE The community was shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden passing of Mrs. Gypsie Trimble, a bookkeeper at the Second National Bank for the past 23 years. She suffered a stroke early Saturday morning, death coming 20 minutes later. She was 46 at the time of her death. Mrs. Trimble prior to her connection with the bank was a teacher in the Johnson County schools for about three years. She has been a loyal member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since twelve years of age. About ten years ago she was united in marriage to W. E. Trimble, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Trimble of Hager Hill, KY. Gypsie and her husband have recently completed a very modern home and moved to thier farm at Hager Hill where she was residing at the time of her passing. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Stapleton. Her father died while she was very young and until the time of her marriage to Mr. Trimble she resided with her mother in Paintsville, KY. Her mother was a sister to John, Will, and Jim Walker, all of whom were ministers of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Gypsie and her husband accumulated quite a bit of property and she was always very thoughtful and generous with the poor and needy. Her loyalty and devotion to the Methodist Church of which she and her ancestors were consistent members so long, were such that she devised all her property to her husband for life with the remainder interest to the Methodist Church. Mr. Conley was born at Hager Hill June 16, 1890, the son of the Late Henry and Katherine Rice Conley. He was a veteran of World War I and had lived in this city most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Hayselett Conley, whom he married March 17, 1913. Other survivors include three sons, James Heber, Robert M. and Morris Conley all of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Glen Butcher and Mrs. E. t.
