Shipley, Jefferson Co THE LORAIN MORNING JOURNAL-Sept. 21, 2000 LOUISVILLE, KY--Richard W. Shipley, 86, of Aurora, IL died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, following a sudden illness at his home. He was born August 25, 1914, in Louisville, Ky. He had been a construction foreman and a brick and cement mason whose jobs had included the Sears Tower in Chicago. Survivors include his daughters Judith Smith, Helen Morrow, Maria Webb, Rose Patterson and Aletha Shipley; sons Richard of Aurora, Kenneth of Friendswood, Texas, Sr. William Maurice of Columbus, Vinson of Oberlin and Juan Shipley of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren aand many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Helen Shipley; brother, Ray Shipley; sisters, Alene and Margaret; and son, Gerald Shipley. Friends may call Friday from 10am until time of service at 11 am at James Funeral Home, 904 Hill Ave. Aurora, Il. The Rev. George Rayford will officiate. Interment will follow at the Batvia Cemetery.
