Goldie Blair Van Hoose, 86, of Paintsville died April 2, 1981 following an extended illness. A retired merchant, Mrs. Van Hoose was self employed, having operated Van Hoose Grocery in Paintsville for a number of years. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Mrs. VanHoose was born Sept. 13, 1894 and was the daughter of the late Harrison and Lidia Hitchcock Blair. Preceded in death by her husband, Noah VanHoose in Dec. 1955. Mrs. Van Hoose is survived by Roy and Ray VanHoose both of Paintsville, Four daughters, Edna Jett of Paintsville, Faye Dingus of Martin, Josephine Howe of Rockhill, SC and Mary Hope Walker, of Louisville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 22great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, and two sisters, Vera VanHoose and Terie Nelson, both of Paintsville. Funeral Services were held April 4, 1981 in Paintsville.
