Oct. 31,1863, present;and is so reported to Oct.31. 1864. That she is the widow of Dennic C York who was a Private in Company A commanded by Capt Stephen Golden in the 49th Regiment of Kentucky Infantry Vol in the War of 1861; that her maiden name was Mary Woollum and that she was married to said Dennis C York on or about the 1st day of October 1840 at John Hendrickson's house in the County of Knox and State of Kentucky by William Hopper and that she knows of no record evidence of said marriage. She further declares that said Dennis C York her husband, died at West Fork Washington County in the state of Arkansas, on or about the 31st day of August, 1882 of Chronic Diarrhea and camp mange or itch, contracted while in the service of the United States. She also declares that she remained a widow ever since the death of said Dennis C York and that she has not in any manner been engaged in, or aided or abeded, the rebellion in the United States; and she hereby appoints L. Bingham of Washington D.C. as her lawful attorney, with power of substitution, and authorizes him to present and prosecute this claim.
