WATKINS, 77, Stanford, Route 1, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 1964, en route to the Ft Logan Hospital. He was the Lincoln County Republican chairman, a member and deacon of the Stanford Christian Church, and a retired farmer. Also, for many years he had served as the Chairman of the Lincoln County Board of Education. Survivors are his wife, Besse Watkins, two daughters, Jane McGuffey of Lexington and Elizabeth Neu of Verdun, France, and two grandchildren, Debbie McGuffey and Jeff McGuffey of Lexington. The body is at the Beazley and Raney Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today.
