MARR BOND: John West and Nancy McLean, Hardin County, KY

From Hardin County, KY:  Transcription of the marriage bond between 
John West and Nancy McLean, 1815:

Know all men by these presents, that we JOHN WEST and THOMAS WEST are 
held and firmly bound unto the COmmonwealth of Kentucky in the just and 
full sum of fifty pounds, United States currency, which payment well and 
truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, &c jointly 
severally and firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated 
this 14th day of October 1815.

The condition of the above obligation is such, That if there should be no
legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly to be solemnized between the
above bound JOHN WEST and Mrs. NANCY McLEAN for which a license this day
issued then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force
and virtue in law.
