Watkins, 84, of Stanford died Oct. 20 at the Lincoln Manor Rest Home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Stanford Christian Church, which he served as a deacon and elder, member of Lincoln Lodge No. 60, past Chairman of Lincoln County Republicans and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by three nephews, Robert Moore, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the Rev Gayle Threlkeld, Shelbyville; Kenneth Nelson, Los Angeles, California; two nieces, Mrs. Margaret Pentz, Charleston, West Va; and Mrs. Jane Richmond, Richmond, Ky. Services were held at the Beazley, Raney and Speaks Funeral Home on Oct 21 at 4 p.m. by the Rev Richard Harris and the Rev Elmore Ray. Pallbearers were Marvin Cornett, Robert Baughman, Harold DeMarcus, Killis Dawson, Leonard Boone and Elmer Young. Burial was at the Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Beazley, Raney and Speaks Funeral Home. The wife of Dr. Hillary J. Deason, Chief of the Office of Foreign Activities in the Fish and Wildlife Service, Mrs. Deason was born in Parksville, Ky. She was a graduate of Berea College in Ky and did post-graduate work at Columbia University in New York. She then taught in high schools in Tennessee and was later secretary to the president of the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark before moving to Washington eight years ago. She worked with the FBI and later in the geological survey. She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, the American Association of University Women and the Berea Club of Washington. Besides her husband, she is survived by one brother, Harold Bourne, Detroit; and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Watkins, Stanford; Miss Lelia Bourne and Mrs. Young, Cincinnati; Mrs. Chris Tschantz, Detroit; and Mrs. Frank Neal, E. Knoxville.
