It was well and pleasing to the all wise "to pluck from the home the mother" in enter her into that land of perpetual light, away form the world's suffering of sin and sorrow to the Home where such are unknown. She is the first of the family to enter into that eternity only to lead the way for others, as her life was an example that we all should follow. The writer knowing her as she did, can truly say she had a smile for every joy, a tear for every sorrow, a consolation for every grief, an excuse for every fault, a prayer for every misfortune, an encouragement for every hope, a slip of life eternal she grew brightly in the soil of Time and each sweet unselfish act of hers is now a perfumed flower. Like the violet in the woodland, like the blossom on the tree, like the morning of the day she lived and died. Her soul was fairer than the thousand days of May. She lived to brighten and the angels when the welcomed her knelt down in Heaven to caress her. May the days that have fallen for this dear mother, crystallize into pearls and form a path by which her children may some day reach that peaceful valley where mother will be waiting for them. When quite young in life she united with the Christian Church at White Oak, Bath Co. and after moving to Bourbon Co. later in years, she moved her membership to the Christian church in Little Rock, where it was always her desire to go. Bedsides her husband T. J. Fleming, she is survived by nine children, five sons and four daughters, namely Mrs. C. V. Smathers of Sharpsburg; Mrs. Kelly Hunt and Mrs. J. B. Fields of Lexington; Mrs. C. O. Crouch of Oil City, La; Ulysses G. and Virgil L. of Paris, Ky; Earl in Greenville, S. C.; Elmer and Warren at home. Also six grandchildren all of whom were devoted to her. Also three brothers. Funeral services were conducted at her late residence Sunday morning at 10 o'clock by the Rev. Russell, pastor of Little Rock Christian Church. Burial in the Carlisle Cemetery. Written by one who loved her.
