News, June 2, 1941 WATKINS Dr. W. F. Watkins, 87, died Saturday afternoon, May 31, 1941, at his home near Stanford, after an illness of several months. He was born and reared in Whitley County where he later was a practicing physician in Williamsburg for many years. In 1910, on account of his health, he was forced to give up active practice and moved to his farm in Lincoln County. He is survived by his wife, whom he married in 1875; one sister, Mrs. Ella Haugh, of San Antonio, Texas; three children, Mrs. Lela A. Nelson, Hollywood, Cal; Mrs. Cleveland Threlkeld of Harrodsburg; Robert C. Watkins, and a nephew, Fred G. Watkins of Stanford; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services and burial were held Monday afternoon in Williamsburg, conducted by Rev. E. Tipton Carrol of Stanford, and Rev. West of Williamsburg.
