Born June 6, 1879 in the Suthards Section, he was the son of the late MR. AND MRS. SAN TODD. He operated a grocery store in Earlington for a number of years. He married NANNIE BROWNING in 1904 and to this union one child was born. MRS. TODD died in 1946. Surviving are a son, ROBERT TODD, Earlington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reid Funeral home in Earlington with the REV. CHARLES HALL, pastor of Earlington Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in a cemetery at Sacramento. RUTH TODD, 32, wife of Chief of Police ELMER TODD, died at her home in Sebree Avenue at 7;30 o'clock last night of pleurisy following influenza after fourteen days illness. She had been critically ill for several days. She is survived by her husband, four children, LEE, TWYMAN, MADELYN and FAY TODD,; parents MR. AND MRS. Z. F. TROVER, Suthards; three brothers, EVERETT AND LETCHER TROVER; both of the Suthards section and BARTON TROVER, Earlington, and three sisters MRS. GARFIELD OLDHAM, Earlington; MRS. RAY MCCULLEY and MRS. SAM CLARK, both of the Suthards section. Died Jan 6-1933 STROKE FATAL TO W. G. BARTER Stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage as he lay in bed at his home, 316 South Scott Street, at 7 o'clock this morning, W. G. BARTER, 62, watch maker and optician, died within ten minutes. For eighteen months he had been in poor health, but had been able to make frequent trips to the downtown section during that time. He practiced his profession at his residence. A Christian Science funeral service will be conducted at the resident at 9o'clock, Friday morning and the body will be taken to Mt. Vernon, Ind. For burial. Born Nov 15, 1871 in Posey county, Ind., MR. BARTER after being a resident of Evansville for several years, located in Earlington in 1900 and resided there for six years. He had been living in Madisonville for fifteen years. He was married to MISS MA__? Schreiver, of Indiana, on August 17, 1900. Of this union four children, SAM BARTER, Cincinnati; WILLIAM AND JOHN BARTER, both of Madisonville; and MISS LUCILLE BARTER, Evansville, were born, and they, with the widow survives. Other surviving relatives are a half brother, GEORGE BARTER, East St. Louis, Ill, and two sisters, MRS. JAMES BONNER and MRS. LOUIS MORNEWEG, both of Evansville. For years he had been a member of the Main Street Presbysterian Church and of the Madisonville blue Lodge, Knights Templar Commandery and Rizpah Temple Shrine. Died Jan 7-1933 MRS. ELLA O'CONNOR MRS. ELLA O'CONNOR, 71, of Cayuga, Ind. Born and reared in this city died Saturday of influenza complications while visiting at Thornton, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial will be in the cemetery there. Her husband, DUDLEY O'CONNOR, who died years ago was Madisonville agent for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad company for thirty-five years. Two sons, DUDLEY O'CONNOR, Cayuga, and KENDRICK O'CONNOR, residing in California survive. MRS. L. W. STAPLES, South Franklin, who she frequently visited, is a cousin. Died Jan 7-1933 WILLIAM ROBERTS WILLIAM ROBERTS, 83, retired farmer, died at the home of his daughter, MRS. ___O'BANNON, Nebo Section, at 9 o'clock Saturday night of influenza -pneumonia following several days illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Rose Creek Church, near Nebo, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Johnson Island Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, seven children and other relatives. Died Jan 8-1933 REV C. C. DAVES The REV. CLARENCE C. DAVES, 59, pastor of the Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist church, died there Sunday noon of influenza-pneumonia following a brief illness. Burial will be in the Auburn, KY Cemetery Tuesday. His widow, four children and other relatives survive. He was born and reared in the Dalton section, Hopkins County and had been a minister for twenty-five years. DIXON, 85, died at the Moseley hospital here Friday night following a brief illness of infirmities of age. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and burial was in Suthards cemetery. J. N. BRUCE PROVIDENCE - Feb 23 - J. N. BRUCE, 81, farmer, Providence, rfd 3, and who lived in Hopkins County, died at his home last night of pneumonia, following several days illness. He had been in ill health for some time. MR. CHAMBERS, who for twleve years has conducted a substantial newspaper distributing business, has been a resident of ward six for twelve years. He says in his formal announcement to voters, appearing in this edition of The Messenger, and is familiar with the needs of the ward. June 30 HOWARD TODD, 60, retired framer, died suddenly at 9;15 p.m. yesterday in his home here after several weeks of illness from a heart ailment. TODD, who formerly lived in the Suthard section, had been a resident of Earlington twelve years and had a wide acquaintance in the county. He was a member of the Suthard Christian church and of the Woodmen of the World for 23 years. Surviving are the widow, MRS. SARAH TODD, four sons: CARL, WOODROW and HERMAN TODD, Earlington; SHIRLEY TODD, Evansville; three daughters, MRS. WILLIAM MCCULLEY, MRS. JOHN QUINN, MRS. WILLIAM BREEN, all of Indianapolis; two brothers, LEE TODD, Madisonville route 6; WORD TODD, Earlington; two sisters, MRS. SUSAN TODD, St. charles; MRS. Nov. 30. LEE TODD, 76, farmer, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday in his home, Dawson springs, rfd 2, following two years of ill health. A year ago he underwent an operation for hernia. MR. TODD was the son of LYSANDER AND DRIENDIA TODD, and was born June 6, 1876, in Hopkins County. When 21 years old he married MISS MARTHA CRAVEN HAMPTON, who survives. To them two children were born: Chief of Police ELMER TODD, Earlington; and LONNIE TODD, Dawson Springs, rfd 2. They also survive. He was affiliated with the Suthards Baptist Church. Other survivors are a brother, WORD TODD, Earlington; sister MRS. MOLLIE DAVIS, Roff, okla., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral was conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Suthards chapel. Rev. J. W. ROBINSON, Providence Baptist Minister, officiating. Burial was in Suthards Cemetery.
