The bible was given to Sarah Frances Stevens's mother Camilla L. Sutton born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 31, 1819 by her husband James A. Stevens born in Somerset, Pa. on April 22, 1810. They were married in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 30, 1833. I figured Sarah must have gotten the bible because she wrote all her family in it. I do have the title page this what it says: The Iluminated Bible New York Harper and Brothers Publishers, 82 Cliff St. 1846 This is how it is written in the bible: Marriages: Caleb W. Ray and Sarah Frances Stevens was married in Carrollton, Louisiana on the 22 day of August 1867. Births: Caleb Warren Ray was born in Hopkins Co. Ky. on the 29th July 1824. Sarah Frances Stevens was born in Yazoo City, on the 6th day of Jany. 1849. Charles Warren Ray was born in St. Charles Parish, La. on the 6th day of Oct. 1868. Fannie Emma Ray was born in the City of New Orleans, on the 26th day of May 1873, Camilla Ivy Ray was born in Ascension Parish, State of Louisiana, on the 5th day of August 1877. Virginia Vivian Ray was born in New Orleans, La. on the 19th day of May 1880. Deaths: Charles Warren Ray departed this life on the 3rd of March 1870 in New Orleans, La. Camilla Ivy Ray departed this life on the 29th day of Sept. 1877. Caleb W. Ray died on Jany. 31st 1883. Sarah Frances Ray died on the 11th of February 1940. This is not written in the bible: My ggrandmother Virginia Vivian Ray Cain died in Opelousas Louisiana on November 10, 1970.
