Brackett, 82, of Upton, died Thursday, 1 Aug 2002 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of Three Fork Bacon Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennie and Carrie Lee Bennett Brackett; three brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include a sister, Lottie Bush of Hodgenville; a brother Norman Brackett of Upton; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton with the Rev. Gordon McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Leesville Cemetery near Upton. Charles "Darb" Deweese, 72, of Brownsville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. A native of Edmonson County, he was a plant superintendent at Elizabethtown Paving Co. and an Army veteral of the Korean War. He was a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, a moderator of Edmonson Association fo Missionary Baptist Church Church for 21 years and a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Myrtle Conway Deweese. Survivors include his wife, Jean Deweese; two sons, Eric Deweese and Lannie Deweese, both of Brownsville; a daughter, regina Prewitt of Brownsville; two brothers, Cleo Deweese of Elizabethtown and Willie Floyd Deweese of Brownsville; a sister, Lucille Madison of Lousiville, eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral is 1 p.m. Central time today at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Rayburn Parker officiating. Burial will be in Sweeden Cemetery in Sweeden. A native of Munfordville, he was a retired farmer and a member of Mount Beulah United Methodist Church. He was an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Stewart Wilkerson; his parents, William Thomas Wilkerson and Betty Taylor Wilkerson; and a brother, William Thomas Wilkerson. Survivors include a son, Stewart Wilkerson of Munfordville; six sisters, Nancy Foster of Winchester, Mary Burroughs of Vine Grove, Margaret Williams, Ruby Widmer and Gladys Letterman, all of Louisville, and Peachy Faye Davis of Munfordville; and a granddaughter. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Central time Saturday at Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with Brother Joe Firquin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Beulah Cemetery.
