I William Johnson of the County of Edmonson and State of Kentucky bring sick and weak in boddy, but sound in mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to blef (bless)) me with I do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say ... 1st. I desire that all the perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after the present crop is laid by, and out of the money arising there from, all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid, should the perishable part of my property prove insufficient for the above purpose then I desire that the executors hereafter named may sell my Knob tract of land after such a credit as they may think advisable containing 157 acres and out of the money arising there from pay and satisfy such of my debts as shall remain unpaid out of the sales of the perishable part of my estate... 2nd. After the payment of all my debts and funeral expenses I give to my beloved wife Susanne Johnson my home tract of land whereon I now live during her natural life and to be further disposed of as I will hereby mention, the said track of land contains 100 Acres... 3. I do also give unto my said wife one horse to be worth forty dollars and the following household and kitchen... towit to one good bed and bedstead and furniture, the cup board and all the furniture therein belonging and a good cow and also and four head of my best sheep... six chairs and one big pot, two small pots or skillets ___?___ and my black walnut square table, three *piggins & candle stand, churn and the big & little wheel and the fire dogs and it is my further wish and desire that my executers should next fall lay in for the use & benefit of wife Susanne Johnson thirty Barrels of Corn & five hundred weight of pork out of such moneys as may arise from the sale of my estate that may be sold, all of this above stated property. I do hereby give and bequeath unto my Wife Susanne Johnson during her natural life and then to be disposed of as I will hereafter mention... 4. I give to my Daughter, Christen Corhone a horse & saddle which she has already received worth eighty dollars... 5. I give my daughter Margaret Moore a horse & saddle which she has already received worth eighty dollars... 6. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Cox, one horse, a good bed & furniture items which she has received worth Seventy Dollars... 7th. I give to my daughter Nancy Eaton, who is now dec'd one bed & furniture which has received worth thirty dollars... 8th. I give to my son Benjamin Johnson one horse & saddle worth sixty dollars. Also one hundred acres of land, worth one hundred dollars also Seventy five dollars all of which he has received... 9th. I give to my son James Johnson one horse & saddle worth Sixty dollars also one hundred acres of lands worth one hundred dollars all of which he has received... 10. I give to my son Henry Johnson one horse & saddle worth Seventy five dollars also one hundred acres of land worth one hundred dollars & eighteen dollars for the state price paid on their land all of which he has received... 11. I give to my daughter Miriah Johnson the one hundred acres of land that I now live on after the death of her mother, unto her & the heirs of her body forever to do as she pleases with, & I further more give unto her after the death of her mother the cupboards and all the furniture therein, also my half dozen silver tea spoons and also my Loom at my death, I do also give unto my daughter Miriah a good bed and furniture... 12th. I give unto my son William Johnson Jr. Ten dollars to be paid by my executors out of any money that my fall into their hands from the sale of my property and it is my further wish & desire that my son William Johnson should not enjoy any part of my estate except the ten dollars as above stated... 13. It is my wish and desire that after all my past debts are paid such parts of my land that I have not willed away may be sold by my executors upon a credit of two years and the money a rising there from to be divided between my four daughters that is to say Christen Corhone, Margaret Moore, Elizabeth Cox, Nancy Eaton or in other words her heir Berry Eaton son of my dec'd daughter Nancy Eaton to make them equal to the amount I have given to my three sons Benjamin, James & Henry Johnson & when they are made equal should there then be a surplus I wish the surplus to be equally divided between my three sons, Benjamin, James and Henry Johnson & my four daughters Christen, Margaret, Elizabeth & the heir of my dec'd daughter Nancy... 14th. It is my wish & desire after the death of my wife Susanne Johnson that all the perishable property that she may have in her possession (pofefion) that I have not heretofore willed away may be sold, equally divided among my three sons & four daughters that is to say, Benjamin, James & Henry Johnson and my daughters Christen, Margaret, Elizabeth and the heir of my daughter Nancy Eaton the foregoing property here I have given is for the use & benefit of them & their heirs. Executor administrators and assigns forever... 15. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Henry Johnson & my son in law James Cox, Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby made... Having closed this my last will & testament and in the foregoing part of my will, made provisions for my Grandson Berry Eaton, & it is there for my wish and desire that my Executors herein named shall retain in their hands after my deceased all of the intend that my grandson is entitled to in this my last will & testament until he becomes of age. -- It is my further wish and desire that in case my grandson Berry Eaton should decease this life before he becomes of age, then in that case it is my wish and desire, that all of his intrust that I have theretofore given him shall be returned back to my legal heirs & equally divided between them... It is my wish & desire that this part of my will should be annexed to the foregoing part of my will and as being my last will and testaments... Camp & William Anderson two of the subscribing witnesses there so do have been signed sealed, published and declared by the said decedent, as his last will and testament, and that at the time of so publishing and acknowledging the same they believed him to be in his perfect mind and memory, whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded...
