Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. He died Saturday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. Born Sept. 21, 1921, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Columbus A. and Leona J. Taylor Boyd. He was a former manager of Boyle Lumber Co. and an assistant at Stith Funeral Home. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Church of Christ. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Wade Boyd; three sons, Larry F. Boyd of Brentwood, Tenn., Arthur F. "Junie' Boyd Jr. of Parksville, and Dennis W. Boyd of Louisville; a brother, Edward A. Boyd of Danville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Perryville United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher, youth director and a member of the Women's Guild. She was the widow of Jess Brummett. Survivors include a son, Jerry Brummett of Perryville; two brothers, Cecil Bottom of Louisville and Robert Bottoms of Perryville;two sisters, Dora Taylor and Lenna Curtis, both of Louisville; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five step great- grandchildren. Born July 12, 1952, she was a daughter of Gladys Bryant of Oberlin, Ohio, and the late Jim Bryant. She was a nurse's aide and a member of First Baptist Church of Danville and Mount Zion Baptist Church, Oberlin, Ohio. Additional survivors include a son, Chris Walker of Homestead; two brothers, Jim Bryant of Washington, N.J., and Howard Bryant of Homestead; and two aunts, Mattie Cunningham of Harrodsburg and Madge Taylor of Louisville. He was past president of Wilderness Shrine Club and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Kachina Billiken Klub. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. She earned a nursing degree from Catholic Hospital, Oak Park, Ill., attended Eastern Kentucky Teachers College, taught at a one-room school house at Shelby City, and was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, James Earl Catron Jr. of Junction City; two grandchildren whom she raised, Richard M. Gregory of Junction City and David C. Gregory of Corpus Cristi, Texas; another grandson, Jonathan Summont of Chula Vista, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gregory.
