The following was taken from an old scrapbook, a newspaper item that was not dated. He is buried at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery as Davis T Ralston, 1892-1919. "The Death of Mr. Davis T Ralston, Last Week. Was One Of Finest Men The County Ever Knew; Death Was Results of Complication Following Operation For Appendicitis; Burial Was In Glasgow Cemetery. "Davis T. Ralston is dead! Afer (a) valiant fight, grim struggle, Death closed his eyes and stole away his being. But his soul, triumphant, journeyed to its Maker. "Death followed an operation for appendicitis, January 23rd. And while not unexpected, news of the passing of this splendid young man was (a) grevious shock to the community. "Conscious to the last, and at peace with the world and with his God, he began the long, long journey from whence there is no return, with assurance that a good God had provided mansion for him beyond the sky. The transititon, gentle and quiet; occurred at nine-fifteen, Wednesday night of last week. "Davis Ralston was in his thirty-third year, and one of the most promising, most prominent young men of Glasgow. Splendidly educated and magnificently endowed, he was rapidly forging to the front in the practice of law - his chosen profession. He had just entered upon his second term as City Attorney of Glasgow; he was a law partner of Hon. W. L. Porter, and was confidential advisor and counsel for leading business firms of the city. To each of these he brought (a) well-trained mind, splendid judgment, and honest, conscientious service. "Mr. Ralston was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, was a Mason of high standing, and a member of the Methodist Church. He was popular with all classes and a particular favorite with immediate associates. "It is difficult to write of the passing of Davis Ralston - only a boy, erect and fdrank, jut entering man's estate! And it is impossible to put in cold type our respect, admiration and high regard for him who had the poise and discretion of the man of mature years. "He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howe Ralston, who loved their only child devotedly. And Davis, fine son of fine parents, returned this love in equal measure. This famlycircle, until now unbroken, was about the happpiest of our acquaintance. "Funeral was at the Methodist Church here Friday, and interment was in the Glasgow cemetery. The ministers of the city, and Mrs. W. P. Coombs had the service in charge." _____________________________X-Message: #4 ------------------------------------------------------------ Submitted by E-mail Registry submittor Sandi Gorin Subject: [KYF] DEATH: Annie Depp, 1911, Allen Co. ------------------------------------------------------------ Sandi's NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information.
