CECIL C TUCKER Breckinridge County Native, Cecil C Tucker, 59, of Fernley, Nev, son of the late Arba and Isabella Tucker of Westview, Ky, died there June 18th. He is survived by his wife, Dovie, of Fernley, Nev, and a stepdaughter, Nancy Bardon at home; two daughters, Mrs Shara Greenwood, Reno, Nev, and Linda Jones of Seaside, California; two sisters, Mrs Agnes Hardin of Logansport, Ind, and Mrs Ethel Jeffries of Rt 2, Harned. A hand written note of "3-11-1971" gives possible date of publication. Arba C Tucker, 82 year old West View resident, died at the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Wednesday, March 3, 1971, following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Bertha Tucker of West View; two daughters, Mrs Ethel Smith of Harned and Mrs Agnes Hardin of Logansport, Indiana, a son, Cecil Tucker of Fernley, Nev, a step-son, Harold Payne of Garfield and a step-daughter, Mrs Dorothy English of Louisville. Members of the F&AM Lodge No 67 conducted Masonic Services for their departed brother at 8:00 PM Friday at the Dowell Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev Leonard Flener from the West View Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 6. Interment was in the Kingswood Cemetery directed by the Dowell Funeral Home. George H Hardin 1908 - 1970 GEORGE H HARDIN, age 61, died February 8, 1970 at 9:00 PM, at Washington, D.C. He was born June 10, 1908 in Maceo, Kentucky and is a former resident of Harned. Surviving Mr Hardin is his wife, Mrs Agnes Hardin, one son, Charles Edward Hardin, Logansport, Ind., and one brother, William Hardin of Kingswood, Ky. Mr Hardin was a member of the Methodist Church and is a veteran of the Army. Funeral services were held from the West View Methodist Church February 12, at 1:00 PM, with Rev W H Richardson and Rev DAVIS officiating. Burial was in the Kingswood Cemetery under the direction of the Dowell Funeral Home. BEN F. RUNNER DIED At His Home Near Morton Branch. Daughter at Death’s Door. The sad news of the death of Mr. Ben T. (sic) RUNNER, at his residence near Morton Branch, this county, was received today. The deceased was about 48 years old, and for some time had been a sufferer of tuberculosis. The funeral will be held at Mt. Zion Church, and the burial will follow in the church yard by the side of his first wife. The deceased is survived by his wife and several children. He was a store keeper and farmer, and a man highly esteemed for his many good qualities. Born May 20, 1934, in Washington County he was the son of Christine Robinson Young of Harrodsburg and the late Christopher Hugh Young. He was in the Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Penny's Chapel Methodist Church and former owner of Young's Auto Parts and Young's Ford. He was a former member of Cornishville Masonic Lodge, the Lawrenceburg Lion's Club, Lawrenceburg Jaycees, Lawrenceburg American Legion Post No. 34. Additional survivors include his wife, Janice R. Lance Young of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Larry W. Young of Lexington and Mike E. Young of Lawrenceburg, and three grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home by Joe White and Gary Drury. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday until time for the service. Mrs. Eliza RUNNER, wife of Wm. T. RUNNER died last night at 9:30 o’clock at her home in the Ray’s Branch vicinity of consumption. She had been in failing health for a year or two and for some time her condition had been such as to give no hope for her recovery. Mrs. RUNNER was 50 years of age and is survived by her husband and six children. She had been since early childhood an earnest and zealous member of the Christian church and was not only an active and consecrated Christian, but a good woman, who to know was to love and esteem. Her death will be deeply regretted by all who knew her. The funeral services were conducted at Green River Union Church this afternoon at 3 o’clock by Dr. W. T. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery. He died Sunday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Lola Oaks Dowell. He was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. Survivors include his former wife, Christeen Jones Dowell of Stanford; a daughter, Lena Kidwell of Stanford; two grandchildren; and a great- granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry L. Dowell; and a daughter, Brenda J. Dowell. Pallbearers will be Odis, Walter, Gary, Donald, Freeman, Russell and Lonnie Dowell. "Mr. John Matthews died at his [sic] home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Steffey, near Beaver Creek, Thursday morning at the age of 67 years, from apoplexy, very unexpectedly. "He was a single man, never having been married. "He was born and spent his life in the South Fork section, where he was held in the highest regard. "His surviving brothers and sisters are Tucker Matthews of Bowling Green, Mr. Jep Matthews of Fla., and Mr. Allen Matthews of Colorado, Mrs. Frank Smith of near Temple Hill, and Mrs. Steffey, at whose home he died.
