James Byrd. He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 25, 1938, in Clay County, he was the son of Elva Jones Abner of Harrodsburg and the late Malcomb Abner. He was a retired employee of Square D, where he worked for 42 years. Other survivors include his wife, Sara "Libby" Byrd Abner; a daughter, Jan Wiley of Harrodsburg; a brother, Alvie Abner of Lawrenceburg; and a grandson. Pallbearers will be Robert Bailey, Larry Cox, David Shewmaker, Daryl Catlett, James Dunn, Henry Grall, Shane Williams and Robert Smith. Born July 21, 1921, in Odds, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George M. and Cora Honeycutt Wells. She and her husband were owners of IGA Foodliner stores in the Henryville area for 40 years. She was a member of the Christian Church and a member of the Wells Family Association. She was the widow of Johnie T. Adams. Survivors include a son, Garry Adams of LaGrange; two daughters, LaDonna Campbell of Scottsburg, Ind., and Susan Noland of Stanford; a brother, Henry Wells of South Point, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grand- children.
