GOEBEL HURT "Mrs. Doll Hurt, wife of Mr. Goebel Hurt, died at the residence on Columbia Ave., yesterday at one o'clock of burns which she suffered last fall when she attempted to start a fire with coal oil. She was in the hospital for several weeks but recently went home. "She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brit[t], of Lucas, who survive her. She is also survived by her hsuband and three small children, one brother, Mrs. Lewis Britt of Lucas, two sisters, Mrs. L. E. Butrum of Lucas and Miss Allie Britt of this place. "She was a member of the Baptist Church, and was a splendid young lady, whose tragic taking is widely mourned. "The funeral arrangements have not been announced. "DEATH ENDS CAREER OF USEFUL CITIZEN. "Mr. Felix N. Bradford died at his residence on Brown Street last Sunday afternoon, after a lingering illness from heart disease. He was sixty-six years of age, and spent practically all his life in Glasgow, where he was born and reared. "He first engaged in the tannery business, on the lot where Mr. G. H. Davis now lives on Broadway, then in the harness and saddle business, and then in the hardware business, which he has been engaged in for a generation, and has been very successful. "He was one of the oldest and most successful business men in Glasgow. He was prominent in the banking business as well, being for years a director in the Farmers National Bank, and in its reorganization recently, was made a vice president. He and his brother, Mr. B. F. Bradford have been proprietors of the hardware firm of Bradford Bros. for many years, but a year or so ago, he sold the business to his brother and son, who are now conducting the business, and since then has been taking life easy. "He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Emma Myers, and one daughter, Mrs. Terry L. Hatchett of this place. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Messrs. Charley Bradford, three miles out the Cave City road, Ben F. Bradford and Miss Lizzie Bradford of this place, Mrs. Bell Waters of Bowling Green. "Mr. Bradford was a deacon in the Baptist church, and very active in the business affairs of the church, in which he had a large influence. Mr. Bradford will be greatly missed in both civil and religious life in Barren county. "Funeral services were held in the Baptist church, Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. J. A. Gaines, assisted by Eld. T. H. Alderson, and burial was in the Glasgow cemetery." The son of Daniel and Alice Howard Bagby he was born September 26, 1877. He was a automobile dealer until his retirement several years ago. He was also chief of police here at one time. Prior to coming to Greensburg ,he served as Post Master at Exie and had taught school in the county. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Wade Keltner Bagby and an Aunt Mrs. W. G. Pickett of Greensburg. Funeral services were held at the home May 16, with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. E. S. Denton conducted the service. Prior to being elected PVA, Adwell had been on the staff of South Central Rural Telephone for a number of years. "Active in Masonic work, he was a member of Allen Lodge and became a Master Mason on August 16, 1971. He served as Master of Allen Lodge in 1978 and as District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky in 1980. "He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Kosair Temple of the Shirine. My reason for this request is that the expense and inconvenience of these negroes has prevented me from accumulating other property of more value than this girl therefore I hope this will be complied with, Item, I give and bequeath unto my wife Polly Cottingham one negro man named Elijah and if she should not dispose of him by will or otherwise then any will and desire is at her decease that he shall be free, also a negro boy named Darby, during her natural life, and then he will return to my estate; my will and desire is that my blacksmith tools, farmers tools and farming utensials of every description shall be equally among my three sons within named. Item, all the rest residue and remainder of my property of what nature and kind soever my will is that it shall be equally divided among my four daughters hereafter named. (To wit) Sally Cottingham, Polly Halbert, Elizabeth Cottingham and Susannah Cottingham share and share alike and lastly I do nominate and appoint my wife Polly Cottingham sole executix of this, my my last will and testament.
