Born July 16, 1923, in Paint Lick, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Hattie McQuerry Bell. She was head teller for Butler County Water and Sewer Department for 20 years and had been a Girl Scout Leader. Survivors include her husband, Clifton Brewer; two daughters, Joyce Ponder of Oxford and Vera Holmes of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Virginia Walker and Shirley Claunch; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late George and Nannie Shearer Carrier. He was a retired foreman at Vogue Rattan in Lexington. Survivors include his wife, Ruby McCane Carrier; a brother, Otis Carrier of Lancaster; and three sisters, Lennie Ray of Statesville, N.C., and Sallie B. Ray and Willie Underwood, both of Lancaster. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Bob Brooks and Jerry Browning. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
