Born Oct. 20, 1920, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Mae Green Hager. She was the owner/operator of Brown Ceramic Shop in Burgin and attended Southside Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, John D. Brown; a son, Donald Bruce Brown of Burgin; a daughter, Bonnie Peavler of Harrodsburg; a sister, Edna Ball of Burgin; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Brackie Willoughby. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Thomas Jones, George Hensley, Virgil "A.J." Green, Joe Green, C.W. Green and Holly Chilton. Born April 4, 1939, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Will and Ida Belle Coffman. He was a farmhand and factory worker and a member of First Assembly of God. Survivors include two brothers, Davey "D.J." and Albert "Buss" Coffman, both of Liberty; and a sister, Catherine Compton of Liberty. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dwight Coffman. Burial will be in Tapscott Cemetery. Cox, 65, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday at Rockcastle Respiratory Care Center in Mount Vernon. Born Aug. 23, 1936, in Gas City, Ind., he was the son of the late Herschel T. and Maggie L. King Cox. He was a retired equipment operator for International Harvester. Survivors include a son, Jerry Cox of Miami, Fla.; three daughters, Betty Smock, Tracy Hume and Linda Tarter, all of Harrodsburg; a brother, Harley T. Cox of Valejo, Calif.; two sisters, Bonnie Burns and Barbara Krull, both of Columbia City, Ind., and four grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Born March 26, 1944, in Stanford, he was the son of the late William F. and Allene Newland Cordier. He was an insurance agent for Creech and Stafford Insurance Agency. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in business administration/management. He served as a radio man in the Navy from 1964-1967. He also worked as a manager of the Berea College Log House sales room, a bookkeeper at Bluegrass Coca-Cola, and was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life and C.J. Lear and Co. He was a member of Gardenside Baptist Church where he served as an deacon and church moderator. Survivors include his wife, Carla Goodrich Cordier; a son, Jonathan D. Cordier of Lexington; two brothers, Robert E. Cordier of Georgetown, Texas, and Harry C. Cordier of Nicholasville; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Caroline Cordier. Services were today at Gardenside Baptist Church. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Memorials may go to one's favorite charity. W.R. Born Aug. 15, 1919, in Richmond, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Hardy and May Blackford Robertson Taylor. She was the widow of Daniel A. Breene. She was a homemaker and a member of Carpenter's Christian Church Survivors include a daughter, N. Taylor "Tay" Breene of Harrodsburg; a son, Daniel A. Breene Jr. of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, James Breene. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Carpenter's Christian Church by the Rev. Don Hill. There will be no visitation. Memorials may go to Carpenter's Christian Church, Galilean Children's Home of On Wings of Eagles. Burton, 87, of Linden Avenue will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Harrodsburg Christian Church by Don Chase and Phil Williams. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites. He died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital. Born Sept. 24, 1915, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James E. and Hallie Brewer Burton. He was owner and operator of Burton Oil and H&B Sanitation. He was a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church where he was an elder and Sunday School teacher. He was past president of Harrodsburg Rotary Club where he had 40 years of perfect attendance, past president of Danville Country Club, and a past president of Mercer County Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in its organization. He was a co-founder of Mercer little league football and past president of the Kentucky Housing Association. He was a life-member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also had worked for Southern Railroad, Ashland Oil and Marathon Oil companies and was executive director of Harrodsburg Housing Authority. Survivors include his wife, Mary Zella Burton; a son, Eddie Burton of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Susie Duhe of San Clemente, Calif., and Ann Hunter Burton and Louise Bush, both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Mary Hookway of Tustin, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ison, Jack Coleman, Jim McGlone, Jim Moseley, Amos Jenkins and Larry Forgey. Honorary pallbearers are members of Harrodsburg Rotary Club and employees of H&B Sanitation. He was a minister for Mount Zion Methodist Church in Washington County and a retired state government information systems employee. He was a member of Claylick Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helena Burns of Salvisa; a daughter, Faith Burns of Washington, D.C.; and a son, David Burns of Frankfort. Carter, 85, of Thompson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore, formerly of Stanford, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Jim Irwin. He died Friday at his residence. Born Feb. 14, 1917, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Carl A. and Lucy Lee Walton Carter. He was retired from the Navy, in which he served 18 years, and was a World War II veteran, and a member of Stanford Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Eddie Carter of Stanford; a daughter, Nancy Carter Ball of Stanford; and two grandchildren. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home.
