Born May 23, 1941, in Toulouse, she was the daughter of the late Monroe H. and Alta Hoskins Howard. She was a former nurses aide for the Hazard Nursing Home and a private home-care aide. She was a member of Lower Grassy Church of Christ and the widow of Astor Cole. Survivors include two sons, Larry Cole and Astor Cole, Jr., both of Hazard; two daughters, Lydia Burns of Oneida, and Linda Couch of Junction City; three brothers, Zora Howard of Busy, John Howard of Danville, and Matt Howard of Somerset; a sister, Nancy Kidd of Louisville, and eight grandchildren. Services were today at Walker Funeral Home. Floying Thompson Jr. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 5, 1919, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Ethel Murphy Collier. He was a carpenter and former owner of Collier's Carpets. He served as part of the Military Police for the Army in WWII and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, David N. "Sonny" Collier of Danville; three daughters, Glenden Collier Edwards and Doris Collier Provence, both of Danville, and Betty Ann Claunch of Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Williams Collier. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home. "MRS. J. W. HENDERSON. "Mrs. Lizzie Henderson, wife of Mr. John Wayne Henderson of Lucas, died at the family residence Tuesday at the age of 57 years, after a long and lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, who is one of the best citizens of Barren county, but no children, their only daughter having died a number of years ago, leaving two children, Rody and Frances Young, who live with Mr. Henderson. "Before her marriage, she was Miss Lizzie Gillock, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Gillock, and is survived by four brothers: Messrs. Jim and Boss Gillock of Dallas, Tex.' Scott Gillock of Game, Otis Gillock of Finney. "Mr. and Mrs. Henderson spent most of their married life at Finney, where they owned hundreds of acres of river bottom and upland, and where Mr. Henderson farmed in a most successful way, and massed a large fortune. A few years ago, they sold their farm to Mr. T. J. Samson and moved to Lucas, where they have since lived. "Mrs. Henderson was a devout member of the Baptist Church and lived one of the purest lives. She leaves a host of friends t mourn her loss. "The burial was in the cemetery at Finney yesterday afternoon after funeral services by Rev. C. W. Rigdon."
