Born Aug. 15,1922, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Ollie Combs Stamper. She was a homemaker and the widow of Logan Faulkner. She was a Vista volunteer and a quilting club member with a block on display in the Eagle Quilt in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Survivors include two sons, Logan Faulkner Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, and Ron Faulkner of Trenton, Mo.; five daughters, Linda Herring and Fern Randolph, both of Stanford, Mary Damron of East Bernstadt, and Lillian Yeager and Sandra Cox, both of Versailles; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Born May 22, 1928, in New Castle, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Della Brummett Green. She was retired from the Harrodsburg Police Department and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was a past president of the ladies auxiliary of the state police post in Richmond. Survivors include her husband, James E. Fitzgerald; a son, James L. Fitzgerald of Harrodsburg; a sister, Louise Fitzgerald of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and an aunt and uncle who raised her, William and Mary Huff of Somerset. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Robert DeFoor and Phil Yates. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Born June 25, 1926, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Watt and Mary Ellen Clements Wethington. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 26, 1922, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Hallie Lathrem Mann. She was a member of Lawrenceburg Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher for 30 years and a Bible School teacher. Survivors include her husband, James W. Freeman; two daughters, Phyllis A. Wilson of Harrodsburg and Shirley L. Tierney of Lexington; two sons, James W. Freeman Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., and Keith Freeman of Lexington; two brothers, Kenneth Mann of Lawrenceburg and James Mann of Nicholasville; two sisters, Edna Witten of Versailles and Patsy Taylor of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Freeman, 78, of Mackville Road, died Friday at Danville Center For Health and Rehabilitation. Born Jan. 7, 1924, in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Wheeler and Dora Robinson Freeman. He was co-owner of Burley Tobacco Warehouse in Danville and Freeman Brother's Warehouse in Harrodsburg and Madison, Fla. He also was co-owner of Garrard County Stockyards in Lancaster for several years. He was a tobacco auctioneer and an avid road horse enthusiast. He and his brothers were inducted into the American Road Horse and Pony Association Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1994, he was selected Garrard County Outstanding Businessman of the year. He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he earned the rank of sergeant and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife, Rosalind Donovan Freeman; two daughters, Marsha Leavell of Danville and Brenda Kuhn of Louisville; two brothers, Edwin and Marshall Freeman, both of Harrodsburg; and a grandson. Services are 2 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial is in Spring Hill Cemetery. Grubbs, 78, of Lancaster, former chairman of the Garrard County Board of Education, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center. He served on the Garrard Board of Education for 21 years. He also was a retired farmer and a life member and elder of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. He was a disabled Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations. Born Feb. 6, 1924, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Eli and Beatrice Smiley Grubbs. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Poynter Grubbs; five sons, Larry Grubbs of Henryville, and Keith Grubbs, David Grubbs, Gerald Grubbs and Randy Grubbs, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Ruth Ann Henderson of Nicholasville; two sisters, Helen Moberly of Russellville and Nora Thompson of Rialto, Calif.; three brothers, Earl S. Born April 28, 1941, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Herbert G. and Margaret "Pogy" Gormley Gilkison. He was a farmer and a member of Bluegrass Horse Pullers Association, Young Farmers of Woodford County and was a master conservation farmer. He was active in Mercer County Little League and Mercer County High School athletics. Survivors include his wife, Carlie Gilkison; three sons, Bo Gilkison of Louisville, Todd Gilkison of Lawrenceburg and Matt Gilkison of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Terri Gritton of Versailles; a brother, Pat Gilkison of Versailles; four sisters, Peggy Barnett, Pam Jones and Jenny Doyle, all of Versailles, and Kay Sargent of Lexington; and nine grandchildren.
