Jones, attorney-at-law, London, Laurel County, KY, was born in LaRue County, KY, October 20, 1850. His ancestors came from Virginia and Maryland. When quite young Mr. Jones removed to Green County, KY, where he was brought up, receiving his education principally at the public schools. He studied law at Greensburgh KY, and was admitted to the bar at that place in 1871. He was commissioner of public schools in Green County for several years, and in 1875 he removed to Lebanon, KY, and soon afterward entered the United States Internal Revenue service, in which he continued until 1884, when he moved to London and resumed the practice of law, and in which he has attained more than an ordinary degree of success. He is now recognized as one of the leading practitioners of the legal profession in eastern Kentucky. He is a man of family, and very popular both socially and professionally.
