Wilson, father of Mrs Fisher This Indenture made this 1st day of April in the year 1848 Between Samuel MERRYFIELD of the County of Larue, Commonwealth of Kentucky of the One part and Tallitha Fisher of the County of Hardin; Commonwealth aforesaid Witnesseth that the said Marryfield for and in consideration of the sum of sixty five dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Tillitha Fisher her heirs and assigns all that tact or parcel of land situated and being in the County of LaRue on the WATERS OF THE NOLYNN and bounded as follows- to wit- Beginning at the North East corner of the said MERRYFIELD 300 acres survey a black oak and dogwood thence N65W 126 poles & 3/5 to a gum and white oak thence S30W 126 & 3/5 poles to a stake or stone in an old improvement thence S65E 126 3/5 poles to three dogwood and white oak in the original line thence with th same N301/2E 126 3/5 poles to the Beginning Containing one hundred acres together with all and singular the appurtenances therunto belonging or in any wise appertaining-- To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the ppurtenances unto the said Tallitha Fisher her heirs and assigns forever And the said MERRYFIELD for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and apurtenances unto the said Tillitha Fisher her heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whatsoever doth forever warrant and defend by these present In Witness Where of the said Samuel MERRYFIELD together with Henrietta MERRYFIELD his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the land conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals this day and date above written Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Samuel MERRYFIELD seal Henrietta X (her mark) MERRYFIELD State of Kentucky LaRue Cunty Sct I Stephen W.D. Read of the County of the County of Larue and state of Kentucky of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel MARYFIELD for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said William B. READ his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the County of Larue on the HEAD WATERS OF THE NOLYNN CREEK adjoining David CRADYs & Containing two hujdred acres more or less BEING PART OF THE TEN THOUSAND ACRE SURVEY MADE IN THE NAME OF THOMAS MIDDLETON---and bounded as follows- to wit- Beginning at two red oak and post oak thence S80W 108 poles to a rock in a corn field thence N25E 126 0/5 poles to a stone in an old field thence S65E 126 3/5 poles to three dogwoods standing in the original line thence with the same S30 1/2 W 54 poles to a walnut corner thence N69W 100 poles to two hickories thence S10W 40 poles to a black oaktence N69W 50 poles to a post oak or white oak and black oak thence N10E104 poles to the Beginning Together with all and singular the premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belongin or in any wise appurtaining--To Have and To Hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurt-enances to the said William B. BURBA D.C. ****************************************************************** Larue Co Deed Bk 5, pgs 286-287: Samuel MERRIFIELD 2 Nov 1864: This Indenture made and entered into this 2nd day of Novr 1864- Between John L. CROSS S for Henry BUTTUL Sheriff for Larue County of the first part and Samuel WILSON of said County of the second part Witnesseth that whereas on the 29th day of April 1863 and Execution of FINI DACIOUS (??) was issued from the Clerks Office of the Larue Circuit Court in favor of Samuel WILSON and against Samuel MERRIFIELD for $71.50 with interest from 2nd of Decr 1856 until paid and $2 10/100 costs returnable on the 6th day of Jun 1863 which the said 29th day of April 1863 came to the hand of said CROSS Deputy Sherriff as aforesaid who on the 20th day of April 1863 lived the same on twenty acres of property of Samuel MERRIFIELD on the west boundry of his land in said County containing one hundred acres adjoining the land of Thomas PRICE and whereas said Sheriff caused said 20 acres of land to be duly appraised by D. FREEILL and J.W. ASHCRAFT Housekeepers of said County who were first duly sworn and they appraised said land to two dollars per acre and whereas said Executors was subsequently returned to said office and on the 2nd day of June 1863 an Execution of Venditation expanas was issued from same office and placed in the hands of Same Sherriff who on the 22nd day of June 1863 County Court day for Larue County at the Court House down in Hodgenville after advertising the same as required by law offered said 20 acres of land for sale to the highest and best bidder and a credit of 3 months and the Plantiff Samuel WILSON being the highest and best became the purchaser of the 20 acres of land at fourteen dollars and seventeen cents Now therefore in consideration of the premises and by virture of the law in such cases made and provided the said CROSS as Deputy Sheriff as aforesaid has this day and does by sell and convey to said Samuel WILSON his heirs and etc the said 20 acres of land lying in said County on the BARDSTOWN AND GREEN RIVER TURNPIKE ROAD and bounded as follows: Beginning at two small poplars on the East side of the BARDSTOWN and GREEN RIVER TURNPIKE road thence S65E 55 poles to a stake thence S25W 92 poles to a stake thence N65W 35 poles to a red oak dogwood and ironwood on the East side of said road thence with the same N25E 92 poles to the Beginning-- To Have and To Hold the same to the said WILSON heirs and etc with Covenant of general warranty on the part of said MERRIFIELD to as great as extent as said Sherriff is by law authorized to warrant the same but no further and without any liability on said Sheriff individually for the breach of said warranty-- Witness the said CROSS as Deputy Sherriff as aforesaid this day and year first witten. READ All my claims to dower in a tract of 200 acres of land conveyed to said READ by said MERRIFIELD by deed bearing date of ___ day of April 1848 and recorded in the Clerks office in Larue County Court in deed book 1, pg 482 to which reference is here made Said land lying on the WATERS OF THE NOLIN in LaRue County, Kentucky adjoining the land of David CRADY, H.M.
