Submitted by: Vera Burnham vburnham@metrocast.net Date: December 5, 2002 **************************************************************************** This Indenture made the 4th of April, 1831 witnesseth that Lot Pitman,Clerk of the Laurel County Court, by order of Jarvis Jackson, Benjamin Catching, and Thomas Jones, Esqr. Juctices of said Court, do place and bind Felix Grundy Hibbard, orphan of Sally Hibbard aged 6 years the 28th May next, apprentice to Jedidiah Hibbard, with him to dwell and him to serve from the date hereof until he shall arrive at the age of 21 years. He shall demean himself honestly and obediently towards him and serve him on all lawful business during said term, and the said Jedidiah, and John Jackson his security for themselves and their heirs and doth covenant and agree to and with, the said Lot Pitman Clerk as aforesaid and his successors in office that sd. Hibbard will instruct apprentice in the Hatters Trade and provide for him sufficent, meat, drink, apparel, washing, lodging, and mending, with all other things fit and necessary for an apprentice, and teach or cause to be taught, reading, writting, and arthmetic, including the rule of three and give him at the expiration of said term, three pounds ten shillings and a decent new suit of clothes.
