Immediate cause of death was listed as a stroke. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the home and interment followed in the family cemetery at Blackwater by the House Funeral Home. The Masonic Order officiated at the last rites. A native of Harlan County, Mr. Sargent was the son of Ephraim Sargent and Mary Farley. He was married 52 years ago at Harlan to Miss Elizabeth Middletown and she with three daughters and nine sons survive.
