And feeling Sensible(?) my approaching ________ and also being in my right and proper mind believe it my duty to make Some disposition of my earthly affairs and particularly my duty towards my Wife & children that they may after my decease enjoy the little I have accumulated do make this my last Will & Testament. Viz. First it is my Will That all my just debts shall be paid. 2nd. Whereas I have lately purchased from ______ ________ a tract of land Which I wish my Wife to ______ _ So soon as my ______ expires where I now live to take with her to sd. farm all my Stock, other property I may have at my decease to make no Sale except it may become necessary to assist her in paying for said land. 3d. After Sd. Land shall be so paid for It is my wish for her to remain on the Same to use and enjoy it for herself during her life & that with all my other property after her death to be Sold & Equally divided among my Children. 4. I do hereby appoint my beloved Wife Catharine(??) my only Executrix with full power to Carry the above will into Effect without requiring of her any Security Whatever. With full power to Sale & Effect all my debts & if necessary to Sell(?) in my name and Settle all & every part thereof in as full & complete a manner as if she had given Security. And further I have Sundry notes on different persons, which I wish first to be collected and applied to the payment of my just debts and the remain(?) to the benefit of my family. Farris Laurel County Court April Term 1837 A paper purporting to be the last Will & Testament of Jeffrey Champlin dec'd. was produced in Court and Jacob Hackney and Hiram S Farris subscribing Witnesses thereto were called into Court and Stated that said will was attested by them in the presence of said Testator(?) that the name(?) of the Testator was written(?) the same by the Said(?) Hackney at the Testators request. They further said that the said Champlin was of sound mind and disposing memory. Whereupon the said Will was ordered to be recorded and the same is done accordingly.
