Deed Book-B Deed of Jesse Johnson: 10 Feb 1837 (heirs of Jesse Johnson deed to James Hay) This indenture made and entered into this tenth day of February in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven. Between John Johnson, Jesse Johnson, George Johnson, Mason Johnson, Wiley Johnson, Malinda Johnson, William Boggs, Jr., Ann Johnson and William Boggs, Sr., heirs of Jesse Johnson deceased of Lawrence County and State of Kentucky of the one part and James Hay of Lawrence County and state a foresaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said heirs have to them in hand paid twenty five dollars at or before the insealings and deliverings of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents --- (?) grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the aforesaid James Hay his heirs so forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing seventy five acres by survey be the same more or less containing a part of two surveys patented to said Jesse Johnson Decd lying and being in Lawrence County on the right hand fork of Big Blain and bounded as follows To wit: Beginning at a maple beach and Black oak on the North side of the creek on the bank of the hill about 2 poles above the corner of said Johnson's field. South 72 W72 poles to a white oak N 81 31 poles to a white oak South 71 W 64 poles to a black oak South 54 N 20 poles to a poplar. South 801/2 West 38 poles to a white oak and black. North 83 1/2 W 30 poles to two beaches South 46 1/2 W 18 poles to a sycamore tree South 70 W 16 poles to 2 maples and two sourwoods South 22 E 20 pole to a stake N 78 E 282 due North 42 poles to the beginning. The other beginning at a maple conditional corner standing on the North side of the creek at the mouth on Dry ----(?). Thence strait across the creek and the bottom and conditional line to a Sugar tree thence on same to a white walnut thence with said conditional line between George Johnson and Hay. ----- (?) so as to include the improvment made by the said George Johnson to the beginning together with all and singular the aforesaid lands and primises with its appurtinances to the sole use and behalf of him the said James Hay and his heirs so against us the aforesaid heirs of Jesse Johnson deceased and against all persons holding or claiming underly or through us but not against any older title or claim whatever in testimony whereof we the said heirs have here unto set our hands and seals this day and year first above written.
