Big Sandy News February  18th 1898
Died on the 6th, Uncle Fred Kelly, of Cat’s Fork, aged about eighty years. He 
was a good citizen, a devoted father, and a pleasant gentleman in every respect. 
He leaves children and many friends to lament their loss.

Deerfield: Died, on the 2nd of Feb, near here, Uncle Kelly, aged 71 years. He 
was stricken with paralysis about three years ago and has been confined to bed 
ever since. His remains were tenderly laid to rest on a beautiful knoll amid 
imposing ceremonies
