Obituary of Bert Franklin McAllister Submitted by: Herma1@aol.com 30 April 1986 Ashland Daily Independent McAllister, Bert Franklin Bert F. McAllister, 65, of 5008 Powers Road, Ashland, died Tuesday at his home. Mr. McAllister was born January 5, 1921, a son of the late Richard W. and Thena Conway McAllister. He was a retired Continental Bakery transport driver, a Kentucky Colonel and a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a member of Clarence Fields American Legion Post 76, and the Hiram Masonic Lodge 494 F&AM and the York Rite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Suriving are his wife: Georgene Wheeler McAllister; two daughters: Herma Lee (Mrs. Wilton) Deal of Williamsburg, Virginia and Thelma Lou (Mrs. Glen) Pickard of Oklahoma City; a sister, Inez Childers of Guthrie, Oklahoma; a half-brother, Raymond Adams of Henryetta, Oklahoma; three brothers: Sheridan McAllister and Sherman McAllister of Frenso, California and Frank McAllister of Ruther Glenn, Va., and two grandchildren. Arrangements are incomplete at the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland. (Note: Bert McAllister is the grandson of Henry L. and Martha Strong McAllister of Louisa County, Virginia. Mr. McAllister is the son-in-law of William J. and Fannie B.
