Obituary of Thomas Jeptha "Jay" O=92Daniel, died 3 May 1925 J. O=92Daniel=20 J. O=92Daniel, 49 years old, West Virgina and Kentucky representative of = the Johnson Book Company, with headquarters in Huntington and Louisville = and formerly prominent educator of eastern Kentucky, died here yesterday = morning at 4 o=92clock, a victim of heart disease. He had been ill since = last October at the home of his brother, A. O=92Daniel, 414 9th Avenue, = west, until he was taken to a hospital a week before his death. Mr. O=92Daniel was born at Hewlett, near Louisa in Lawrence county, = Kentucky July 29, 1875, a son of D. A. O=92Daniel. He was educated in = the schools of his home county and at an early age became a teacher, as = which he served for many years. In 1911 he was elected county = superintendent for Lawrence County. Upon retiring from office he became connected with the Johnson Book = company in which he eventually became an extensive stockholder. He was = well known in educational circles throughout his territory.=20 He was a Mason, a member of Louisa lodge, and a member of Catlettsburg = lodge, B. P. O. E. He leaves his father, D. A. O=92Daniel of Hewlett, Ky., two brothers, A. = O=92Daniel 414 9th Avenue, west, and William(Error =96 should have been = Ben) O=92Daniel of Hewlett, and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Burton and Mrs = Eli Moore of Park Hill, and Mrs. C.W. Honaker and Miss Amy O=92Daniel of = Hewlett, Ky. Brief funeral services will be held at the residence of A. O=92Daniel = this afternoon at two o=92clock. The body will be taken to Hewlett for = burial Tuesday.=20 Mr. And Mrs. Sam Wheeler, 423 Eighth Avenue, the latter a cousin of the = decedent, and Miss Edith Marcum, will accompany the funeral party to = Hewlett.
