Obit: O'DANIEL, Lawrence Co., 1949 The Daily Independent of Ashland (Elbia O'Daniel died April 20, 1949) HEART ATTACK FATAL TO ELBIA O'DANIEL Stricken with a heart attack at his home, 564 Blackburn Avenue, Ashland, at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday night of last week, Elbia O'Daniel, 36, employed as a welder at the Leach Station plant of the Ashland Oil and Refining Company, died en route to an Ashland hospital. Mr. O'Daniel was a native of Lawrence County, Ky., and had been a resident of Boyd County for the past seven years. Surviving are his parents, Ben and Hattie Moore O'Daniel, one son, Robert Ben, at home, one daughter, Glenna Ruth O'Daniel, at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Hathorn of Cincinnati, O., and Miss Mary Frances O'Daniel of Ashland. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Newcomb Chapel, Lawrence County, KY., with burial following in the Harmon Cemetery also in Lawrence County. Rev. Dave Hewlett of Buchanan, Boyd County officiated, assisted by Rev. I. J. Scudder, pastor of the Second Methodist Church of Ashland.
