He was a lifelong resident of route 3. He was a farmer and a World War I veteran. Mr. Jobe was born February 5, 1888, on route 3, Louisa, a son of the late James Harvey and Melissa Marcum Jobe. He married Stella Murphy Jobe 39 years ago. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Midway Methodist Church on route 3, Louisa with the Rev. Fred VanHorn and the Rev. Jack Perry officiating. Burial was made in the Jobe Cemetery on route 3. Surviving are his widow; five sons, Sheridan Jobe of Smith's Ferry, PA, Sylvester Jobe, Jr., of Star Route, Louisa, Albert C. Jobe of Darlington, PA, and Proctor and Harvey Thomas Jobe, both of Midland, PA; three sisters, Mrs. Bill Marcum of Huntington, Mrs. Paul Burton of Darlington, PA and Mrs. Hattie Prince of Lexington, KY; four brothers, Lindy Jobe of Chillicothe, OH, John Jobe of route 3, Loluisa, Elisha Jobe of Spencer, WV, and Clyde Jobe of Grove City, OH and 19 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Curtright Funeral Home.
