MOORE, Thornton

Thornton Moore, 77, retired farmer of Mattie passed away at his home after an 
illness of several months, Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred Short, 2 sons, 
Jay Moore and Dillon Moore, all of Mattie. His wife died several years ago. 
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon from the home. Interment was made in

On Nov 18, 1834 as the sun rose high in the Heavens and all was quiet and still 
except the whispering of the wind in the trees, the Death Angel came riding, to 
claim its victim. This time for its victim Thornton Moore was claimed. He was 
born Sep 8, 1856 being 78 years 2 months and 11 days old at his death. Death was 
welcomed by him. Many times had his suffering been so hard to bear, that he
