Mr. Murphy formerly lived at Ashland and had lived at route 3 for three and one half years. His wife, Ella Derefield Murphy died in 1931. He was born at Yatesville, KY, November 1, 1884, a son of the late Thomas and Julia Ann Burton Murphy. He was a carpenter. Funeral services were conducted Sunday from the Curtright Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Vanhorn officiating. Burial was made in Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Inez Hannors, Columbus, OH, Mrs. Roscoe Kitchen, Ashland, KY, Mrs. Stella Jobe, route 3, Louisa, Mrs. Arthur Kitchen, Star Route, Louisa, and Mrs. Kay Diamond, Hanging Rock, OH; 16 nieces and 6 nephews. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Curtright Funeral Home.
