H. Joint funeral services for Mrs. Alafair Spillman Berry, 87, of Louisa route 3, and her son, O. H. Berry, 43, Goody, KY, were held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Clem Short Cemetery, near here. The Revs. Gallie Isaac and Oscar Sagraves officiated at the brief services. Mrs. Berry, who had been in poor health for some time, lived at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Smith Adams of route 3. When word was received early Friday morning of the death of Mr. Berry, members of the family on entering Mrs. Berry's room to communicate the news to her found that she had passed quietly away. Her husband, the late William Berry, died in 1939. They were natives of Lawrence County having lived in the Twin Branch section all their lives. She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Jim Adams, Mrs. Frank Newsome and Mrs. Smith Adams, all of route 3, 1 sister, Mrs. Jim Berry of Yatesville and 2 brothers, Arthur and Willie Spillman of Louisa, route 3. Mr. Berry is survived by the widow, Mrs. Janie Berry, Goody, 1 son, Joseph Willis Berry of the U. S. Navy and 1 daughter, Wilma Annalee Berry, Goody and 3 sisters, Mrs. Jim Adams and Mrs. Smith Adams, both of Louisa and Mrs. Frank Newsome of Yatesville.
