WILSON, Mahala (Burton)

1866-1940

Mrs. Mahala Burton Wilson, 73, wife of Harrison Wilson of the Lick Creek section 
a mile south of Louisa, died at her home Monday morning after an illness of 4 
months. Mrs. Wilson was born at Ellen, KY in 1866, a daughter of the late Frank 
and Phoebe Carter Burton. She had been a member of the Elizabeth Jarrell Church 
for 43 years. Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 from the 
Elizabeth Jarrell Church on Lick Creek, 3 miles from Louisa, and interment was 
made in the Wilson Cemetery near there under direction of Curtright Funeral 
Home. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, 3 sons, Arthur, Ora, and Jay 
Wilson, all of Louisa, route 1, one sister, Mrs. Bill Jordan of Beaver, OH, and 
5 grandchildren, Phoebe Mahala Wilson, Woodrow Wilson, Teenie Wilson, Lina
