Lawrence Co.Ky Will Book 2 & 3-# Pages 156-157 I, Johnson Thompson of the county of Lawrence and the state of Kentucky do make and publish this my last will and testament, being in my proper mind and in good health. I have heretofore given to my children,A.J. Thompson,William Thompson,Exona Cooksey,Elizabeth Carter and Margarette Moore, about one thousand dollars a piece, wishing to do justice to all my children. My will is for my last three children to have the rest of my estate. I therefore give and bequeath to my son,A.J.Thompson, one $1.00 dollar in addition to what I have already given him, I also will to my son,William Thompson one $1.00 dollar in addition to what I have given him.Exona Cooksey,I bequeath to her one $1.00 dollar in addition to what I have given her, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Carter one $1.00 dollar, in addition to what I have given her. I give and bequeath Margarette Moore One dollar in addition to what I have already given her. I give and bequeath to my two daughters, Mary B.Thompson and Rosa D.Thompson, the home farm that I once gave to my daughter Elizabeth Carter, I purchased the land from her and I give and bequeath that same farm to my two last little girls. At their marriage, they shall decide themselves which shall have the side of the creek where the house & orchard is and the one that gets the side of the creek where the house is on it shall pay the other one One-thousand dollars to make them even.My son,John Jay has no share in the home place as he has the lower place deeded to him. Also Mary B.Thompson & Rosa D.Thompson has no share in the lower place.What personal property there is shall be divided as the mother or father shall see fit amongst the last three, they last wife's children. Having done as near justice to all my children as I can, they will be satisfied and content.Through the Will of God, one of those, three last named children should be called away, the property is to fall to the other last named children on my last wife's.This August the 25th, the year of our Lord 1882.
