Ball Obit from Richmond, Indiana "Pal-Item" HAGERSTOWN -- Carl Burton, age 64, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, in Reid Hospital. He was born in Lee County, Ky., on June 23, 1940, the son of Jefferson and Reva Mays Burton. He had resided in Hagerstown for the past 35 years. He was a former employee of Taylor's Heating and Air Conditioning, Hagerstown, and Blue Flame Gas Co., Richmond. He enjoyed fishing, all sports and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Madeline, who he married on Jan. 15, 1972; seven children, Terry Smith of Lynn, Duane Burton of New Castle, Connie Davis of Florida, Anita Fowler of Richmond, Diane Peirce of Hagerstown, Connie Barker of Greens Fork and Lori Martin of Hagerstown; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Burton of Kentucky, Matt Burton and Danny Burton, both of Richmond; three sisters, Joyce Reece of Florida, Eileen Burton of Winchester, Sylvia Fox of Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two! children, Wenonah Miller and Garry Smith; a brother, Charles Burton; two sisters, Marge Burton and Jan Farmer. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown, with pastor Paul Gearhardt officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
