RICHMOND, Ind. -- Rudy Sparks, age 70, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 
2007, after a short illness. Born May 4, 1937, in Lee County, Ky., on 
Spencer Ridge, to Santford and Sofa Morris Sparks, he was a resident of this 
community since 1965. Rudy was a lineman who retired from R.E.M.C. after 28 
years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Survivors include his two daughters, 
Patricia D. Wasson of Richmond and Jeannie Blevins and her husband Brad of 
Richmond; four sons, Kenny R. Sparks and his wife Pauline of Richmond, Ricky 
L. Sparks and his wife Mary Wanda of Richmond, Michael C. Sparks Sr. and his 
wife Donna of Kentucky, and Michael C. Sparks Jr. and Danielle of 
Hagerstown, Ind.; five grandchildren, Amy Wasson of Richmond, Steven Wasson 
and his wife Tina of Richmond, Brandon Blevins of Richmond, Krystal Sparks 
of Richmond, and Ashley M. Blevins of Richmond; four great-granddaughters; 
two great-grandsons; one great-grandchild on the way; brother, Arlie Sparks 
and his wife Diane of Kentucky; four sisters, Callie Raynes and her husband 
Lee of Pennsylvania, Barbara Jean Brewer and her husband Danny of Kentucky, 
Nancy Willoughby of Richmond, and Helen Willoughby and her husband Ronnie of 
Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; wife, Hazel M. Anes Sparks, who died in 2002; infant daughter; 
infant grandson; brothers, Eddie and Herley Sparks; and sister, Ada Fae 
Dailey. Funeral service for Rudy Sparks will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 
2007, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, with 
Chris Monahan officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends 
may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Memorial 
contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 
Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
