Herald 1974 MRS. GLADYS COGAN Mrs. Gladys Spriggs Cogan, 77, a Lewis County native who lived at Concord, died at 3 a. m. Jan. 8, 1974 at Hayswood Hospital. She had been ill 10 years. Mrs. Cogan, widow of Archie Cogan, was the daughter of the late Charles Oscar and Cora Lighter Spriggs. She is survived by five children who are, Eddie Cogan of Maysville, Mrs. Lillian Fetters of Tollesboro, Mrs. Freda Cooper of Ironton, Ohio, Mrs. Nellie Henderson, of Route 5, Vanceburg, and Mrs. Lula Corns of Concord.She also leaves four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters who are, Mrs. Ethel Vance of Vanceburg, Mr. Guy Spriggs of Tampa Fla., Mrs. Alma Moffett of Lexington, Mrs. Violet Copeland 0f Covington, Mrs Meryl Rupe of Covington, Mrs. Ruth Stone of Hammond, Cecil Spriggs of Garrison, and Paul Spriggs of Huntington, W. Va. Funeral rites were conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Russell Barbour and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Tucker and the Rev. Ray Ripato officiated and burial was in the Concord Cemetery.
