Lewis CO. KY - Obit: J. Scott Gillespie From: Jan Gillespie Hello came across this in researching items for the Lewis Co newspaper list. No connection to me and I don't just want to discard it: In Memory of the late J. Scott Gillespie, who departed this life Jan 22, 1916, aged 59 years. He was an honest upright man, willing and ready at all times to help his friends and neighbors. He made his home with his borhter, Jos. W. Gillespie for more than 20 years. Although for the past eigthy years he had lived alone but after his health began to fail he went back to his brother from which place he passed away. Since last September he had been a constant sufferer, he and God only knows how much. He has gone and will not return but while we grieve, we know the is free from the toils and cares of this world and at rest in his home above which he inherits by his noble self sacrificing life. He was a member of the Tollesboro Christian Church. the funeral services was conducted by Rev. Simmons, burial in the family graveyard. ===== Janice L.
