Herald 1966 LEWIS COUNTIAN, 36, FATHER OF 12 DIES CURTIS TACKETT Stricken with a heart seizure shortly after 4 a.m, Christmas morning, Curtis Tackett, 36-year-old father og 12 children, the youngest just 3 months of age, died at his home in the Garrison community of Lewis County. Dr. H. M. Bertram Sr., Lewis County coroner, conducted an inquest yesterday and attributed the death of a coronary occlusion. An employ of the maintenance crew in Lewis County of the State Highway Department, Mr. Tackett was held in high regard by all of his co-workers and was admired for his industriousness. News of his untimely death will be learned with deepest regret Mr. Tackett was born June 8, 1930 in Pike County and was a son of the late Will and Martha Music Tackett. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Julia Hammonds Tackett; the 12 children, Judith 19, Sharon 17, Lee 16, Bertha Faye 14, Brenda 11, Shela Mae 9, Betty Marie 8, Sandy 7, Johnny Ray 6, Barbara 3, Edith 2, and Mary Ruth 3 months; one granddaughter, Annette; six brothers, Mid, Glenn and Clarence Tackett, all of Garrison; Rans Tackett, of Bucyrus, Ohio, Acie Tackett, of Beaver Creek, Ky., and Junior Tackett of Elkton, De.; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Thornsberry of Beaver Creek, Ky., Mrs. Vertie Emmert, and Mrs. Goldie Mashburn, both of Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Marie DePrima, of Rochester, N.Y. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bivens Chapel at Red Brush, near Garrison. Rev. Robie Erwin will officiate and burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery, near Garrison. Friends may call at the Clarence Tackett home in Garrison. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dickerson Funeral Home, Vanceburg.
