Vada Cole Tackett, 79, of Garrison, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at 
Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. 
Born June 10, 1926, in Melvin, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Sara 
Jane Caudill Cole. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie  Sullivan of St. Paul and Tenna Durman of 
Sharon, Pennsylvania; three sons, Ted (Sue) Tackett and  Walt (Vickie) 
Tackett, both of Quincy, and Fitzgerald (Melis­sa) Tackett of Garrison; three 
sisters, Ada Thornsberry of Auxier, Naomi Braden of Monroe, Michigan, and Jus­
teen Bentley of Bentleyville; two brothers, Russell Cole of South Portsmouth 
and William "Bo" Cole of Bentleyville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great­
grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Tac­kett; one son, Parnell 
Tackett; four sisters, Delphia Cole, Lonia Cole, Lady Cole and 
Arizona Tackett; four brothers, Andy Cole, Londy Cole, Leonard Cole and Estill 
Cole; and two grandchildren, Joshua E. Tackett and Brandy N. Durman.
  
Services were conducted Saturday, October 15, 2005, at 1 :00 p.m., at Wright's 
Chapel on Montgomery Road in Gar­rison. Bro. Clarence Hall and Bro. Roger 
Madden officiated with burial in Skidmore Cemetery on Kinny in Garrison.
