LAND GRANT: McGUIRE, John, Lincoln County, Kentucky Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2000 08:15:03 -0800 From: "Martina Carpenter" Virginia Grant John McGuire Lincoln County Book 4 Pages 504 - 505 FHC #0272811 Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know Ye that by virtue and in consideration of part of a Land office treasury Warrant Number 11183 and issued the second day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty two there is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto John McGuire assignee of Joseph Strother a certain or parcel of land containing two hundred and sixty acres by Survey bearing date the seventeenth day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty three lying and being in the County of Lincoln on Dick's River adjoining Caleb Wallace on the East and the lands of ____ Tuggs on the south and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at three hickories on the Clifts of Dicks River nearly opposite the mouth of Cain Run running West one hundred and thirty poles to a buckeye hickory and dogwood thence North two hundred and twenty poles to two white oaks and sugar tree thence East two hundred and fifty poles to the River at two white oaks thence up the meanders of the meanders of the River to the Beginning with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said John McGuire and his heirs forever In Witness whereof the said Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the second day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five and of the Commonwealth the tenth.
