OBITUARY: BAKER, Lois Jean Sims - Lincoln County, Kentucky Date: 4 Dec 2003 Submitted By: Sherri Hall http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00001.html#0000051 From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 8 May 2003 MORELAND -- Lois Jean Sims Baker, 86, of Moreland died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 14, 1917, in Hustonville, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Clara Mae Estes Sims. She had worked at Patterson Brothers in Hustonville, at Palm Beach Co. in Danville for 18 years and retired from Roses department store in Danville. She was a 1935 graduate of Hustonville High School. She also was a member of Hustonville Baptist Church, where she was recognized recently as being one of the oldest members. She was the widow of James A. Baker. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Baker Peek of Moreland; a great-granddaughter whom she raised, Amy Deering Sharp of Moreland; a sister, Thelma VanHook of Beech Grove, Ind.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Greg Nimmo and David Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Peek, Bowen, Bo and Tyler McGuffey, Earl and Willie Baker, Larry Knouse and Otha Atwood.
