OBITUARY: BURGER, Alton Lee - Lincoln County, Kentucky Date: 4 Dec 2003 Submitted By: Sherri Hall http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00001.html#0000051 From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 27 Apr 2003 PERRYVILLE -- Services for Alton Lee Burger, 73, of Robin Drive, Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Gravel Switch by the Revs. Junior Fields, Harley Humfleet and Stanley Young. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery. He died Friday at his home. Born May 17, 1929, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Claude and Alma Southerland Burger. He was owner and operator of Burger Grocery in Junction City, a former employee of Danville Construction Co., and a retired Boyle County schools bus driver. She was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church and a former member of Junction City and Parksville rescue and fire departments. Survivors include his wife, Morine Burton Burger; two daughters, Donna Chadwell of Parksville and Sandy Rice of Gravel Switch; two sons, Dwain Burger of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Ronnie Burger of Moreland; five sisters, Lucille Trailor of Russell Springs, Zora Pike of Booneville, Miss., Zula Wilson, Ruth Cooley and Christine Warren, all of Danville; three brothers, Marvin Burger of Cincinnati, Claude Burger Jr. of Gravel Switch and Bob Burger of Danville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Irvin Pike, Mike Cooley, Billy, Stevie and Travis Rice and Dale Chadwell. Honorary pallbearers are Tonya Chadwell and Chris Burger. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at Wilder Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Monday at the Church.
