Smith Brown, 79, of Broughtontown, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 1, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lela Brown Smith. She was member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ and charter member of Broughtontwon Community Center. She was the widow of Vernon Brown. Survivors include a son, Harold Brown of Muncie, Ind.; two daughters, Sue Painter of Cold Springs and Phyllis Braley of Crab Orchard; a brother, Ronald H. Smith of Danville; two sisters, Aldean Seltsam and Audrey Hurt, both of Danville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKnight Funeral Home by Gerald Carter and Ernie Arnold. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Brian and Kevin Brown, Tom and Jim Painter and Clinton Middleton. Visitation will be 5:30-9 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home. Memorials may go to Mt.
